Religious: At least seven people were injured in the violence of Pre-Panchayat polls in two different places under the constituency of the Chikiti Assembly in Ganjam Regency on Thursday afternoon.
While four people were injured after being allegedly attacked by a rival group with sharp weapons in Babanapur under the police station Nuaagon, three sustainable injuries after clashes between supporters of two political parties in Chikiti.
The incident occurred when the candidate returned with their supporters after submitting their nomination letter.
However, the candidates were not injured, police said.
Wounded people were treated at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here, said the source.
The police have registered two cases in connection with the Chikiti incident, and one in connection with Babanapur Clash.
People who were accused of being runaway and will soon be arrested, the police said.
Police officers, including police supervisors (mixed) Pinak Mishra, rushed to the villages to take stock situations.
Additional forces were deployed in the villages because Friday was the last date to submit nominated letters for the three-level banter.
Previously, the violence of pre-rural polls was reported from the Mundamarai limit below the boundary of the Dharakote and Char Police Station on and Goudagaon in the K nuagoon police station.
The police have arrested 15 people, most of BJD and BJP supporters, because of their alleged involvement in the incident.
The police said they had maintained strict vigilance in the situation and mobilized troops.
