Lucknow: A total of seven people were killed and two injured in three separate wall and roof incidents following continuous rain in Sitapur District, 50 km from the state capital.
Uttar Pradesh Head of Yogi Adityanath’s minister spends the loss of life and directs officials to reach the place to provide assistance to the victims.
In the first incident, reported from Laksminpur Village, four people identified as Lalli Devi (50), Shailendra (10), Shiva (8) and Neeraj (2) belonging to the same family – died when the wall and warehouse tin collapsed on them due to rain , In the second incident, reported from the Nankari Village, RAM Lotan (42) and his wife Anita (38) died after a wall collapsed on them, whereas, at the third incident of a 60-year-old man in the area of the Consultation Police Office was killed as a roof of straw falling due to rain heavy.
All bodies have been sent for post mortem checks, said police supervisor, Sitapur, Rp.
Singh.
Singh also said that the local police team along with the district government was carrying out rescue operations and those who were injured had been hospitalized.
“The SDRF and PAC unit has also been pressed into services to carry out rescue operations and assistance,” Singh added.
The Sitapur District Administration also announced the compensation of Rs 4 Lakh for the next relatives of each of the deceased.
