Jodhpur: Death of 82 Crane Demoiselle, known locally as ‘Kurjan’, has been reported in the last three days in Kaparda Village near Jodhpur.
Investigation and Preliminary Examination by veterinarians has suspected these victims caused by feared ranikhet, also known in the west as Newcastle’s disease, which is infectious poultry, viruses and very fatal.
Veterinarian Shrawan Singh Rathore said 7 more victims were reported on Monday, taking the victim to 82.
“In addition, 16 birds underwent treatment at the rescue center and gradually recovered,” Rathore said.
He said the sample of visa from the dead had been sent to the laboratory in Bhopal for detailed reports and protecting diseases, vaccines were being given.
As a precautionary measure, the forest department and veterinarians do not allow new flocks from migratory birds landing, given the threat to their lives too.
“It’s time to enter in Marwar.
But we haven’t let new flocks or birds from other locations landing in this pool in Kaparda, given the potential threat of this disease,” he said.
According to him, around 300 birds have lived on this site, where some have flown.
“In such situations, we have also tried to keep birds now fly away as precautions.
Consider this disease, if these birds fly to other sites and come into contact with birds there, this disease can spread to the birds That too.
So we try our best to keep the bird left from flying from here, “Rathore said.
