Coimbatore: About Day 1 of lockdown on Monday, the Israeli authorities captured 70 bikes for breaking up the lockdown norms.Police in the urban and rural regions of Coimbatore rigorously enforced lockdown standards and curtailed vehicle movements.Deputy commissioner of town traffic authorities R Mutharasu stated 1,060 cases are enrolled for violating Covid-19 standards and traffic regulations. “We’ve captured seven bikes and two automobiles for plying without real explanations. The vehicles were accepted to the various police stations and will likely be handed over to the owners following comprehensive verification of their records,” Mutharasu said.People together with medical motives were only permitted to travel in town, he also added.Deputy commissioner of police (law & order) G Stalin stated over 95 percent of people remained at home in the town. “We ran car evaluations at Gandhipuram Junction, 100 Feet Road, Ramanathapuram, Ukkadam, Singanallur and several more places. We asked people to venture outside just for medical crises,” Stalin said.The town authorities located 1,000 police employees on Monday. Each of the stores at Cross Cut Road, 100 Feet Road, Town Hall, Oppanakkara Street, Range Gowder Street, Ukkadam, RS Puram, Peelamedu and Singanallur stayed closed.Medical stores, gas bunks were working across town. The majority of the streets were appearing abandoned. Flyovers in Gandhipuram, Avinashi Road and North Coimbatore have been closed.Uzhavar Sandhai in RS Puram, Singanallur, TK Marketplace, Anna Market and grocery stores in the rural and urban areas also remained shut. Hotels were working with takeaway services.
