Rajkot: An old woman who lived in the village of Gir Somnath District was killed on Tuesday night by robbers who also stole the jewelry she was wearing worth Rs 1.35 lakh.
Police Prabhas Patan has launched an investigation into this problem based on complaints registered by his daughter Jivti Solanki.
According to Soaknki, his mother, Kadvi Barad (70) lived alone in the village of Inaj.
He came to know about his daughter’s death on Wednesday morning after the neighbor Barad told him.
The door of the house was broken and Barad was found to lie dead in a pool of blood.
“Someone entered the house at night and killed the victim with several sharp-eyed weapons.
The victim has five head injuries and one in the neck,” said N MHIR, Police Inspector Police Prabhas Patan.
Robbers looted earrings with a weight of 20 grams and a gold necklace weighing 30 grams, total valuable items worth Rs 1.35 lakh robbed.
The deceased has seven daughters and one son, who lives in the nearest village with his family.
