Coimbatore: At the end of the 15th mass vaccination drive on Saturday, 94.19% of the eligible population in the district received their first dose and a population percentage which was fully vaccinated up to 72.15%.
The drive starts in the morning with the aim of vaccinating two lakh people in more than 1,000 vaccination centers.
However, only 82,716 people were vaccinated, where 83% or 68,804 people got their second dose.
A total of 13,912 people received their first dose.
The Ministry of Health expects more people to emerge vaccinations remember concerns about Omicron variants.
While seven lakh people in the district qualified for the second dose, many of them still get Jab.
“There is a need for another broad campaign to create awareness about vaccination, especially when we aim to fully vaccinate the population that meets the requirements at the end of this year,” said Deputy Director of Health Services Dr.
