New Delhi: More than 720 children at children’s care institutions in 11 states and the United States have contracted Covid-19 to the present and no deaths have been reported, according to data from the Rights of the APEX of the country.
Data, distributed by the National Commission for Children’s Rights Protection in response to RTI’s request from PTI, also stated that 686 children living in children’s care institutions (CCIS) had been infected with Covid-19 years.
Last year, Uttar Pradesh was the only state of 11 states and the Union (UTS) region to report cases of Coronavirus among children in CCIS.
It has reported 35 cases, according to the data.
This year, no Coronavirus Case has been reported from these institutions in Uttar Pradesh, which was stated.
According to commission data, there was no death because the Koronavirus infection was reported among children living in CCIS from 11 states and UTS.
Of the 721 children in such institutions, which contracted infection, the highest number was reported from Haryana (288) followed by Tamil Nadu (149) and Bihar (131), according to data.
It stated that the number of cases of Covid-19 among children in CCIS in Mizoram was 46, Karnataka 37, DeLangan 19, Telangana Seven, Gujarat, three.
There were no cases reported from Andaman and the Nicobar Islands, stating the National Commission data for the protection of children’s rights for 11 states and UTS.
There are 857 CCI in these countries and UTS and 33,695 beneficiaries are in it, according to government data.
In June, the ministry of women’s development and children had asked the state to make suitable arrangements for isolation facilities in the CCI to treat children suffering from Covid-19 and prepare children’s psychologist or counselor to visit facilities and interact with them.
To ensure institutional support through CCIS, the Ministry also requests the State and UTS to regulate the inspection drive specifically in collaboration with district judges, for assessment of quality care in all CCI to ensure children’s welfare.
CCI is also directed to ensure the right facilities such as clean and hygienic life conditions, basic facilities, quality food and safety for all children from infection.
