73 Species Waterbirds Asia Seen in Bhindawas & Mandhoti Wetlands

Gurgaon: The Haryana Prize Diversity Board was informed on Wednesday that 73 Asian waterbirds species were seen in Bhindawas and Mandhoti Wetlands in the first Asian Waterbirds Census conducted by the Haryana Diversity Council Haryana, Ministry of Wildlife and Natural Bombay History (BHN) on Saturday.
According to the Biodiversity Council Haryana, this census aims to record the entry of birds of migration on wetlands in Jhajjar Regency.
“This is the first time the Asian Waterbirds census takes place in Bhindawas and Mandhoti.
Previously, the bird census had occurred in the area, but this had international interests.
Every bird survey has a different focus.
It’s focusing on Asian waterbirs,” said Prakash Mehta from State biodiversity board.
The more important sensual significance, he said, “This census aims to study the pattern of migration and trends of Asian seawater population.
This data will help conduct long-term studies and broadly.
The census will take place every year to collect trend data.” Nearly 70 participants conducted a census.
Some birds seen on two wetlands are Graylag Goose, Duck-Billed Duck, Northern Shoveler, North Pintail, General Pochard, Eurasia Coot, Grebe Small, Eurasia Collared Dove and others.
“We brought the Asian Waterbirds census on Saturday in Bhindawas.
Last year, this area entered the Ramsar list, along with Sultanpur National Park,” said Sohil Madan from BNHS, who also participated in the census.
Meanwhile, a wildlife officer said that the census revealed some migration birds from China, Mongolia, Pakistan, Tibet, Siberia and Iraq gathered on wetlands in mid-October.
Winger visitors return to their original countries in March with the beginning of spring.
January is the best time for calculation and bird recording.
