744 police officers in Kerala were accused of criminal cases

Thiruvananthapuram: A total of 744 police officers in the state have been involved in criminal cases, according to the data presented in assembly.
The case has been registered with all 744 officers under the relevant parts of Indian Code.
From them, 18 officers have been removed from the other 691 services that have faced the actions of the department.
Another set of data from the police said that from June 1, 2016 to January 1 this year, 667 cases were registered with police officers.
This means that at least 77 registered cases this year alone against police officers was involved in a criminal case.
The latest in the list is the Senior IPS Officer G Lakshman, which has been suspended from services and now faces department investigations to assist and collude with fraudsters Monson Monson.
Also, until January 1, the government must start the department’s action against 43 officers for violating human rights.
