Jhansi: In new initiatives, Indian trains have announced to take advantage of 75 training centers throughout the country including two in Jhansi to provide skills training to young people between the 18-35 year age group.
Inaugurating a scheme on Friday at Rail Bhawan, Minister of Railway, Communication, Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw launched Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana, a program under the Aegis Pradhan Mantri Caushal Vikas (PMKvy).
He announced that around 50,000 people would benefit from this scheme in the next three years.
The training center includes the Basic Training Center (BTC) and the Supervisor Training Center (STC) in Jhansi.
Training free of charge for selected participants from an application received online will have access to four fields including electric workers, welders, machines and 100 hour schedules for each.
The program curriculum has been developed by Banaras Locomotive Works.
Trainees will be awarded certificates in the trade provided by the National Rail and Transportation Institute, after completing the program.
Dedicated the scheme as a birthday present for the Prime Minister on his birthday which also fell together with Vishwkarma Jayanti who was profitable, the train minister said, “The vision of skill development is an integral part of the vision of Prime Minister and 50 thousand trained youth under Rail Kaushal Vikas Yojana .
The purpose of this initiative is to provide training skills to young people in various trade to bring qualitative increase, emphasizing more in remote areas “.
