KABUL: More than 75 Taliban terrorists, including three heads of their military commission, was killed in air strikes and land operations carried out by Afghan security forces for the last 24 hours in Helmand, said Deputy Minister of Defense Afghanistan on Tuesday.
At least 22 terrorists were injured during surgery.
“77 Taliban terrorists including 3 heads of their military commission were killed & 22 others were injured on the outskirts of Lashkargah, the provincial capital of Helmand for the last 24 hours as a result of air strikes & land operations.
Operation against terrorists continued in Helmand,” Safe added.
Previously, the Afghan defense ministry announced that the US held an air strike in the city of Lashkargah Helmand which killed at least 40 Taliban terrorists.
This came after Drawdown by foreign forces from a war-hit by a war.
Heavy clashes occurred between Afghan and Taliban forces in several Afghan cities.
Over the past few weeks, the Taliban had arrested several districts in Afghanistan including Takhar, the country’s northeastern province.
Nationally, the Taliban controlled 223 districts, with 116 contested and the government held 68, according to the Long war journal, whose calculations with CNN estimates.
It is said that 17 of 34 provincial capital is directly threatened by the Taliban.
