New Delhi: Eight inmates, which were released on parole or temporary guarantees from Delhi prisons to reduce prison in the middle of the Covid-19 outbreak, were arrested again for allegedly involved in various criminal cases, officials said on Sundays.
The prisoners were submitted in prisons in the West, South, Dwarka and Outer Delhi District.
In the southern district, one Amarjeet, a bummer, was arrested in theft and case of the home trespass registered at the Kotla Mubarakpur police station.
Crime took place on June 24, said a senior police officer.
Amarjeet was previously sent to prison in the case of violation of Accise Act, he said.
Dwarka District reported the arrest of two inmates who had come out with a guarantee.
According to the police, Naresh Kumar, a resident of Ujwa in Delhi, was arrested in the case of ACS actions registered at the police station Kalan Jaffarpur.
Others were identified as Deepak Kumar, a resident of Jai Vihar in Baprola, was arrested for his involvement in a criminal case.
In the Outer District, one person was arrested in a robbery case.
However, the police said they protested the guarantee of a prisoner involved in several criminal cases, after the plea guarantee was rejected.
Four people were arrested in the Western District.
Among them, two were arrested in cases of theft, one in robbery and one due to violations of Accise Act, police said.
According to the police, around 90 Northwestern District Inmates and 95 Northeast District Prison were released, however, no one was arrested again.
In Shahdara Regency, 104 undertrial detainees were released from prison, but none of them found involved in other criminal cases so far, they said.
A senior official Delhi Priss said about 3,800 inmates were released from three prisons.
“This year, the process of releasing inmates starts from the second week of May.
About 3,000 underage detainees and around 800 inmates were released from prison,” the official said.
These include prisoners who were released last year and then gave up without bad reports, and also new prisoners who qualified for temporary guarantees or emergency conditional liberation in the view of the pandemic, under the criteria set by the high-powered committee in its committee.
On May 4 and May 11 last year, around 5,500 underage detainees and 1,184 inmates were released on temporary guarantees and emergency conditional liberation of three Delhi – Tihar, Rohini and Mandoli prisons – during the coronavirus-induced locking.
The Supreme Court on Friday ordered that detainees, which were released by the High-powered Committee (HCC) countries during the second wave of Covid-19 after tens 7 May, would not be asked to give up until further orders.
The Top Court also directs their state and HCC government to submit within five days of the norm or guideline adopted by them in implementing the release sequence of detainees for prison which durated during the second wave.
