8 Killed after Jeep, the truck collided at Chintamani

Chintamani: Eight people killed when their Jeep traveled colliding with a truck loaded with a cement bag near Marinayuahalli at the police limit of Kencharahalli, Chintamani Taluk Chikkaballapur Regency on Sunday afternoon.
Six people died in a place while the other two surrendered to injury later at the hospital.
The incident occurred around 4pm, when Jeep with 17 passengers was heading to Chintamani from Royalpad in Srinivasapur Taluk, Kolar.
The two vehicles moved at high speed when they collided, M Narayanappa, PSI Kencharahalli, said.
He said the impact of the accident was such that the jeep was dragged about four meters.
The deceased is Venkatalakshmamma, 59, residents of Nareganapalli, near Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh, Munirathnamma, 49, from Gopalli in Chintamani Taluk, Narayanaswamy, 55, residents of Tapateswara Colony in Chintamani and Ramesh, 40, owner-cum-driver Jeep.
The rest of the identity has not been established.
Narayanappa told TOI there were 17 passengers in the jeep, including two children.
What was injured had shifted to the hospital.
One passenger escaped with a minor injury.
The truck driver escaped leaving his vehicle.
Malur Legislator KY Nanje Gowda said he was heading from Srinivasspur to Chintamani and was behind the jeep that was destined when the accident occurred.
He said the victims were traveling in private jeeps because of the lack of public transportation facilities affordable and reliable.
Gowda said the majority of greedy private operators and run vehicles without permission, licenses and insurance.
