8 new omicron cases in Kerala; Total now 37.

T’puram: The total Omicron case reported in the country has reached 37, with eight more patients testing positive for new variants.
Among the eight new cases, each of them is from Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam and two of them from Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur.
Patients in Thiruvananthapuram came from Russia on December 22.
Kollam patients come from Namibia in December.
Two patients in Alappuzha came from Qatar on December 11 and December 17.
Both patients in Ernakulam each from England and the UAE in December and18.
One patient in Ernakulam was a three-year-old child who came with his parents.
However, parents have tested negatively.
One of the patients in Thrissur came from Kenya on December 13, and the second patient was the connector of this traveler.
All patients have been isolated in different hospitals, and their contact list is being prepared.
Meanwhile, the first Omicron case reported in Ernakulam has been tested negatively and has been repatriated from the hospital.
This 39-year-old person comes from England.
2,605 New Covid Cases: The country reported 2,605 positive cases from 55,928 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
Among new cases, 2,243 people qualified for vaccination, 173 had taken a dose, 1,407 fully vaccinated, and 663 did not even take a single dose.
With 31 deaths again in the last few days it was recorded as Covid death and 311 deaths added to the appeal received, the Covid death toll in the country has now reached 46,203.
The current total active case is 25,586, where 8.8% of people are received in hospitals or other care centers.
At the same time, 3,281 patients have recovered from this disease.
Among new cases, 2,427 cases have been infected through local deployment.
The contact source of infection cannot be traced to 138.
Thiruvananthapuram reported the highest number of cases – 534.
