Gurgaon: Eight patients with burns, including three adults and five children, arrived at a civil hospital in sector 10 on Thursday night.
They came home after first aid, said Doctors.
Every year, the city records a surge in the number of burns in Diwali.
Last diwali, the hospital has received four patients with burns.
This year, Dr.
Virender Yadav, Chief Medical Officer, Gurgaon, said, “Eight patients with grilled injury were less than 15% visiting the emergency ward after 11pm and returned after treatment.” On the other hand, there has been a surge in the number of patients with obstructive lung disease (OPD) that reported chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and breathing pressure on Friday, a day after Diwali.
“Throughout the day, we have received patients with difficulty breathing in emergency wards, especially because of the increase in pollutants and suddenly dip temperatures,” said Yadav.
“Limit outdoor activities; Avoid running and exercising outdoors.
Avoid cold drinks and also stop smoking,” said Dr.
Manoj Goel, Director, Pulmonology, Fortis Memorial Research Institute.
