83% of cases of dengue fever come from urban areas

Ludhiana: District dengue fever has risen to a five-year high.
From the reported case this year, around 83% came from urban areas, including Ludhiana City, Khanna and Jagraon.
According to the Ministry of Health report, the number of dengue cases in Ludhiana is 1,534 to 12 November.
This is the second highest number.
This is the second highest number since 2015, when 1,876 cases are registered.
There were 1,509 cases in 2019 and 489 in 2018.
Of the 1,534 cases this year, 1,266 (82.5%) came from urban areas in the district.
And from 1,266 cases, 1,136 (89.7%) came from Ludhiana City.
Khanna has 67 cases and Jagraon 63.
Rural areas have 268 cases (17.47%).
In the countryside, Koon Kalan has 47 highest cases, Sahnewal has 44 and Sudhar 40.
There are 3,811 cases suspected in the district.
Health department officials said more cases were expected before November.
A health official said officials, “More cases were reported from urban areas, because the population density was more there compared to the rural part.
