84 suicide during the cov second wave peak in the steel city

Jamshedpur: Steel City, who reported a large number of positive Covid cases during the second wave of pandemic, reported 84 suicide during the peak of Corona.
Data was released at night prevention of world killings by Jeevan, a suicide prevention center based in the city.
It also issued a helpline number (9955377500, 99555435508) to help Denizens in need.

“During the peak of the pandemic, we also witnessed the leap in the number of daily trouble calls from 2 to 30,” Jeoraj Jain, Director of the Center.
He said in the first eight months of 2021, a total of 176 people died, including 84 suicide during the Covid peak period.
“The majority of people who commit suicide works,” Jain said.
Data advises 60% of men and 30% of women over 40 years have committed suicide while 10% are adolescents and young people.
“Anxiety, fear and depression are triggers who encourage the person to the verge of suicide,” said the founder of Jeevan, Mahaveer Ram, while sharing data.
