‘85% Civil work is completed in the Metro Priority Corridor ‘

Kanpur: With the aim of ensuring the trial in the corridor in November this year, UPMRC MD Kumar Keshav on Thursday reviewing the Priority Corridor of the Kanpur Metro project was built between IIT and Motijheel and expressed satisfaction.
Along with Motijheel, LLR Hospital, Geeta Nagar, Metro Gurudev & Iit, he also visited the Polytechnic Depot.
Director (Operation) Sushil Kumar and other senior officials from UPTMRC accompanied him during a visit.
Praising the rate of progress, Kumar Keshav said, “In a nine-kilometer long priority corridor, we have completed civil works up to 85% and the system works up to 50%.
At present, the work of all systems, including telecommunications, electricity, tracks & traction is still done With a fairly large speed and we found another innovative way to trigger with more speed.
“In addition, he also informed that to welcome the first Metro train set at the end of September, the polytechnic depot would be ready at the end of August.
He also informed that 6 rolling stock (metro train) will be needed for operations in the priority corridor, but given the aspect of maintenance, we will start passenger service in the corridor with 8 metro trains.
UPMRC has completed the construction of all 513 Piers (pillars) from the Priority Corridor of the Kanpur Metro project.
Civil Construction Priority section has begun on November 15, 2019 and casting the first dock corridor near the IIT completed on the night of December 31, 2019.
Also, all 624 u-girders from the priority corridor were thrown at the Yard Casting Lakhanpur.
Of these, 571 u-girders have been established at the location.
The metro station is also formed and seems to be ready from the outside.
However, from within, construction work is running quickly.
If everything goes according to plan, people might get the chance to ride on Kanpur Metro at the beginning of next year.
