Patna: The eighth Convocation of the Technology-Patna Institute (IIT-P) was held virtually on Thursday with 850 students 2020 and 2021 batches to get their degree, including 411 BTECH, 119 MTECH, 147 MSC, one MTech and 100 PhD students.
About 41 medals were also handed over to students for their excellent academic performance during a virtual ceremony.
Eight engineering students were awarded a gold medal.
Ashutosh Mishra from BTECH (Mechanical Engineering) and Umang Jain from the Department of Computer Science and Computer Engineering (CSE) received the Presidential Medal of the President, Anushree Jain and Vatsal Singhal from CSE received a Director General Medal, Subhadip Bhandari (Material Science Engineering) and Divya Grover (Civil and infrastructure engineering) MTech branches received a gold medal chairman.
Arindam Basak and Saswata Jana from MSc (Mathematics) received Aryabhatta’s gold medal.
The main guest for this virtual meeting was Prabhakar Raghavan, a senior vice president on Google and Iit-Madras alumnus.
Overcoming students graduating from California, he said the world-famous IITS in producing technologists and extraordinary engineers and one of the most extraordinary things about learning in the IITS surrounded by the most brilliant Indian mind.
Raghavan shares his experience in working in the field of academics and also in the industry, the scientific community and products and businesses.
“Sometimes, we impose limitations to ourselves because we think we can do one thing – academics or startup.
Never think that only because you get a degree in a particular field today or take your first job in industry or certain companies, that he defines you a lifetime.
I have seen all my ways that people can do many things.
You will evolve and adapt in time.
So, the first choice you make is not the end of all.
The future is not limited by all this, “he said .
Raghavan added, “As a student graduating, you are headed for the next chapter in your life.
Pursuing every problem that is developing and cannot be solved.
When you do it in pursuit of changing the world, you will change it to be better.” Anand Deshpande, Chairperson, Board of Governors, IIT-Patna, congratulated the Institute to establish an innovation installation center in the ‘electronic and manufacturing system design’ and encourage student entrepreneurial efforts.
He said IIT-Patna was in the process of launching courses such as BTECH specializing in artificial intelligence, BS in mathematics and computing, BTECH in the fields of engineering, MBA and BS in the economic field.
IIT-P Director of Pramod Kumar Jain highlights the Institute of Progress in different fields such as academics, infrastructure and states the achievement of faculties and students.
