Kanpur: Industrial City on Saturday recorded 863 new Covid cases which were the highest in one day since May 2021 when the second Corona wave was at its peak.
Also, two Covid deaths were also reported on Saturdays.
Cases have jumped from 389 to 863 which showed how fast the omicron variant spreads.
According to the data available, on May 5, 2021, 997 Covid infections were recorded in which city 1877 people had recovered but 11 gave up on infection.
On May 4, 1205 Covid cases were recorded, 2225 patients had recovered and eight Covid deaths were reported.
On May 3, 1274 cases were recorded with 2788 recovery while six people died.
On 1 and 2 May, 1340 and 1223 cases were recorded each.
This is the time when the infection is at its peak resulting in some deaths.
Now, during the current third covid wave, 863 newly reported is the highest number in one day.
The toll of death which was still in 1908 also increased to 1910 after two patients died.
Of the two deceased, one was a 80-year-old man, a resident of Chandrika Devi crossed who suffered from other diseases such as COPD, hypertension.
The other is a 58-year-old woman who has also suffered from other diseases including diabetes.
Relief is that 445 positive patients are declared to have recovered from Covid.
From this, three patients were removed from the hospital and the rest of the house isolation was over.
After 863 new cases reported with 445 patients recovered, the total active case rose to 3550.
On Friday, Tally of active case was 3152.The Ministry of Health had collected around 7000-7500 samples every day for the past few days.
On Friday, the Department collected 491 samples and 389 people were tested positively.
On Thursday, from 7496 samples collected, 564 people were tested positive while on Wednesday, 7883 samples were taken and 573 people were tested positively.
New Covid cases are reported from all cities.
Some areas from where new cases are reported including Motijheel, Shastri Nagar, Govind Nagar, Lal Bangla, Medical College, Swaroop Nagar, Indira Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Ratanlal Nagar, Pandu Nagar, Shyam Nagar, Kaushalpuri, Nagar Nagar, Sharda Nagar, Gurudev, Ranjeet Nagar, Kamla Nagar, Harjinder Nagar for several names.
