Noida: Gautam Budh Nagar is in front of other regions in terms of vaccine coverage, with 88% of the qualified population has been given the first shot.
About 20% of the population has taken the second dose too.
According to the latest report released by the state government, GB Nagar is estimated at 15.9 lakh people over 18 and need to be vaccinated.
This includes about five lakh people over the age of 45, of which 81% have taken the first dose.
Other districts that follow far in terms of percentage.
Baghpat, the second in the list, has given the first dose to 47.7% of the population.
It was followed by Meerut, Mahaba and Ghaziabad each in third place, fourth and fifth.
Ghaziabad has been inoculating 47.4% of the total population with the first dose and 10.6% of the population that qualifies with the second shot.
The estimated population that qualifies in the district is 27.6 lakh.
However, in terms of absolute numbers, Ghaziabad was not far behind GB Nagar.
While Ghaziabad has given a total of 16.01.223 shots, Noida has done 17.25,021.
Meanwhile, Lucknow, who was in sixth position, had given 21.27,574 shots.
The overall Lucknow population is also estimated to be more than 38 lakh, which only 42.6% has taken the first dose so far and 13% have been given both doses.
Official Noida said the coverage was possible because there was no doubt among the population to take Jab.
“People here are aware and receptive.
We always need more doses because people continue to come in government and private centers.
In addition, all rwas, companies, and other groups create drive awareness to increase the scope of vaccination, “Suhas Ly District Judge said.
However, he added that the challenge with GB Nagar was a large floating migration population.
Because there are no definite numbers, drive vaccination needs to continue on a large scale because the request is still high, he said.
