Patna: Although the Lean phase in various sectors due to Covid-19 pandemic, nine students of the Indian Technology Institute (IIT-P) have received a job offer from Rs 61.3 Lakh per year (LPA) of each of Oracle, a multinational computer technology company America.
With 252 students in 2022 batch graduates who received work offers in the first phase, IIT-P had witnessed a large leap in placement offer compared to the previous year when 96 students were recruited by different companies.
The first phase of the annual placement drive has begun in October this year.
The source said this year’s placement drive has witnessed the highest number of offers and extraordinary packages.
“This is an extraordinary achievement for IIT-Patna in the midst of the Covid crisis.
The placement drive is done in virtual mode this time because of a pandemic,” said an IIT-P official.
Six students accepted the second highest job offer of RS 57.4 LPA respectively from Atlassian.
MTX offers Rs 51.1 LPA to one student, Adobe India Rs 48 LPA respectively to nine students and Google India 46.5 LPA respectively up to 10 students respectively.
Japan Accenture, on the other hand, has offered Rs 47.9 LPA for each of the three students.
Overall 46 offers were expanded with a payment package of more than Rs 40 lakh and 68 with more than RS 30 Lakh payment packages, Shankar Singh Kripa said, training and placement of officials, IIT-P.
“This institute has seen a stable increase in this average package compared to the previous academic year.
The average package for BTECH students is Rs 26.95 LPA and for MTECH students, RS 14.96 LPA.
More than 30 new companies have participated in the course Campus placement this time, “Singh added.
At least 87 software, IT, finance and banking, analytics, consulting, core techniques, e-commerce, cars, infrastructure, manufacturing and health care companies have recruited students from IIT-P.
So far more than 78% of BTECH and 40% of MTech students have received job offers.
In Btech, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) has topped the list with 96% placement, followed by electrical engineering, engineering machinery, civil engineering and chemical engineering.
Jose V Parang, Professor-in-Charge (Training and Placement), IIT-P, said, “We have seen a significant leap in the pre-placement offer (PPO) which was expanded to BTECH and MTECH students.
In 2021, the Institute had received the Institute 37 PPOS.
The PPO surge shows student resilience and commitment during summer internships.
