Letter: Police Bharuch has registered a violation of nine people from Kankaria Village, Amod and Nabipur in the district suspected of converts 100 people from 37 Hindu families to Muslim religions.
The police said one of the accused, who lived in London, lured people with handsome money and lifestyle for repentance.
According to the police source, some people who raised funds from abroad have used money for illegal conversion in the village of Kankararia Amod Taluka.
The police submitted a complaint and conducted an investigation after being notified by the villagers.
During a preliminary investigation, the police knew that a few indigenous district residents bharuch raised funds from abroad and used it for repentance.
About 100 people from 37 families of Kankaria Village have been converted, an official statement by the police.
The police also knew about Fefdawala Haji Abdul, native residents of Nabipur Village who lived in London, who had previously used this modus operandi for conversion at Uttar Pradesh and Vadodara.
The police registered a violation below Section 14 Gujarat religious freedom laws and other relevant parts of the Indian Criminal Code (IPC).
