9 Hospital sealed sans development certificate

Letter: Letter of Municipal Corporation (SMC) has declined in hospitals that do not meet the civil norms needed and sealed nine hospitals.
It also sealed 37 partial hospitals that did not have building development permits.
Civil officials follow the direction of Gujarat High Court to take action against hospitals that do not meet the civil norms needed.
The action followed the fire incident in various state hospitals during the next Covid wave.
About 1,100 hospitals in the city will be under the SMC scanner for permission, infrastructure, development certificates needed and build user permits along with NOC from the fire department.
The highest number of five hospitals was sealed in the Varachha B zone, while two all hospitals were sealed in Udhna and Katargam.
A total of 12 hospitals have been sealed in part in the Varachha zone.
“We asked the hospital to give permission to develop and build user certificates.
If they failed to hand over us sealed the place,” said Zona officer Varachha B.
Senior official claimed that there was a limited possibility that the hospital would be allowed to reopen.
“Hospitals that cannot produce development permits may not be allowed to reopen,” Banchhanidhi Pani said, Commissioner SMC.
