PANAJI: The number of people who were vaccinated in the cave crossed 9 lakh on Sunday after 11,830 people received their second dose in the mega vaccination drive held throughout the state.
That day also saw 2,406 taking their first dose.
Drive mega vaccination was held to give one last push to the vaccination drive and after the health service directorate found that 2.2 lakh people were not advanced to take their second dose even though it was recommended 84 days after the first dose.
Drive expects more people to depart to take their second dose in preparation for tourists in droves to the country, and with schools reopened.
Although making vaccination is available at 260 health centers and sub-centers on the drive on Sunday, the response is not up to Mark, said the State Immunization Officer Dr.
Rajendra Borkar.
He said that 104% of the target population in Goa had received the first dose, and 78% of the second dose.
The double double count is now at 9.07,587, and some vaccinated 3.33,165.
Goa reported 23 new Covid-19 infections on Sundays, with 2,361 samples tested, and no Covid death.
The country has reported under 50 new infections every day for the consecutive nine days.
Active case, at 352, is now in the lowest for the past year and five months.
The last time the state active calculation was this lowest level in June 2020.
The front level of the North Goa Weekly case at 1.9% continued to be higher than southern covers, which was slightly above 1%.
In northern cave, 46% and in South Goa, 59% of positive cases are detected through fast antigen testing, and the rest by RT-PCR.
Three people were hospitalized and 20 chose to isolate the house.
Two were repatriated from the hospital and 53 recovered for the last 24 hours.
Margao and Panaji have the highest Covid active case with 44 and 34 each.
Chimbel and Ponda each have 23, Curorim 17, Siololim and Candolim 16 each, Vasco 14, Porvorim, Valpoi, and Bicholim 13 each, Chinchinim 12, Shiroda, Pernem, and Mapaa 11 each and Aldona 10 .
All other centers are active cases, but nothing with zero.
