Mumbai: Nine years after nine families from the Santacruz (West) building emptied their homes for rebuilding, they would move to their new home on Tuesday.
The Bombay High Court has directed the builder to give them “actual physical ownership in Dhanteras, November 2, 2021, at 1pm”.
“This is a prize diwali for us,” Ashwin Shah, Secretary of Santacruz West End Chsl, told Tii.
Orders by Justice Gautam Patel came to the insulting petition submitted by the public against Builders K Mordani for delays.
The five-storey building with 10 flats was given to builders in December 2012.
Mordani included a plot in a much larger slum rehabilitation project in Andheri and thus the settlement of the building was detained.
The community moved the High Court in 2018.

The reconstructed building is land with a three-story podium plus 13 floors.
It has a rehabilitation component for members of up to 5 floors and sold outside.

He also said it seems “very strange” that SRA constantly complained that suddenly discovered deviations when it was a special planning authority and was bound to monitor construction.
Justice Patel calls several SRA requests as “absurd.” Two certificates are needed to be laminated.
“Of course OC and citizens’ houses cannot be detained because of laminate, ” he said.
Someone said the structural engineer license ended on March 31.” But what about that? The license ends and is renewed regularly, “he said.
He directed the SRA to issue part-oC at 5 pm.
