Nagpur: List of Bogus contracts at Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) longer every day.
On Thursday, 90 fake contracts worth RS1.4 Crore related to private health department contractors, who were previously found to have prepared 41 fake contracts, excavated.
Suspicious transactions worth around RS90 Lakh are also detected in solid waste management departments.
Now, fraud has swelled to RS3.47 Crore and the amount can increase further.
Toi on Thursday reported a suspicious contract RS1.5 Crore has discussed from the Ministry of Health and two more departments – libraries and registration departments Birth & Death.
Support City Commissioner Ram Joshi and Assistant Commissioner (General Administration Department) Mahesh Dhamecha investigated and identified that the Padmakar ‘Kolba’ Sakode contractor (55) prepared a fake contract and draw another RS1.4 Crore from the library and the registration department of the birth & death.
Already, The Civic Body has registered complaints with the conscious police station against five companies listed in the name of Sakode and family members.
Joshi and Dhamecha were reported to ask for Sakode to pay the number.
“Sakoda gave two checks RS52 Lakh and RS50 Lakh on Thursday and declared the inability to pay more,” an official told toi.
Sakodes are reported to prepare a fake contract from the library and the registration department of the birth & death on the name of the sixth – Shree Ganesh Sai Services.
The owner is a separate person but Sakoda is reported to operate the agency.
Initially, Sakode has repaid RS67.08.630 41 related to 41 fake contracts.
These contracts are given and disbursed payments between October 7, 2020, and July 31 this year.
In 90 fake contracts in the health department, several files originated from April 2020 and so on.
NMC has begun investigating the contract under the RS3 Lakh given starting April 1, 2020, until now.
Opportunities for similar deviations occur before April 1, 2020, cannot be ruled out.
NMC officials also said suspicious payments from the RS90 Lakh came ahead of the solid waste management department.

Two days after receiving complaints from NMC, the police consciously registered a violation of Sakoda, his wife Sushma (50), Elder Brother Manohar (70) and Atul’s nephew (40) under Section 420 IPC.
Verification of the provision of funds and payment was handed up waiting for several major departments such as the Public Works Department (PWD), Education, etc.
The six member committee led by the additional Municipal Commissioner Deepak Kumar Meena has begun to investigate all the contracts given from April 1, 2020, to date.

The committee also tends to investigate contracts above RS3 Lakh who need a tender.
BJP Corporator Vijay Zalke at a press conference accused the involvement of high-ranking officials in fraud.
“Detailed demand must be carried out in all expenses carried out on behalf of the Covid-19 pandemic.
NMC does not know the existence of the material purchased for the Covid Care Center that has never started operating on Jalan Katol,” he said.
