Mumbai: At least 90 people have died and almost 70 lost after the rain-related tragedy – most landslides – report throughout the state on Friday after being responsible, and sometimes recording, bathing.
Raigad, the worst-affected district, reported 60 deaths in three landslide incidents, including the worst in Taliye Village at Mahad Taluka who had claimed 49 lives.
47 more feared people are trapped under debris.
While the rescue team was delayed in their efforts to access the site, villagers claimed that they did not get a previous warning.
However, the government said the villagers had shifted to a safe place but had returned.

Deputy CM Ajit Pawar spoke to defense minister Union Rajnath Singh and seeks to help defense forces.
Foreign Minister Amit Shah also spoke with CM Uddhav Thackeray and convinced all the necessary assistance.
CM also announced the Ex-Gratia RS 5 Lakh for families of victims of all 11 landslides since Thursday.
