Parkal (Warangal): The body of a 90-year-old man, who has lived with his grandson, was found to be filled in their rental house refrigerator in the parking lot in Warangal Regency on Thursday.
The body was found after a neighbor complained about the stench to the owner of the house who called the police.
Cucu, V Nikhil (26), told the police that his grandfather Balaiiah had died a few days ago after a prolonged illness and he had taken care of the body in the refrigerator because he did not have money for the funeral.
It was at Balaiiah’s retirement that the two survived because Nikhil was unemployed, police said.
Baliaiah, a retired government lecturer and indigenous Cameryeddy, has been ridden to sleep due to various diseases since two years.
“Baliaiah’s wife used to take care of him until he died of Covid-19 in May.
After his death, Balaiiah’s health deteriorated,” said Parkal ACP Shiva Busah.
Since his retirement, Baliaiah has lived in the parking lot with her son, who died two years ago in an accident.
His daughter-in-law had died more than 15 years ago.
During the probe preliminary, the police found that the neighbors two days ago had asked Nikhil about the stench of his house.
“Nikhil lied to them and said it could be from a dead mouse.
He then shifted Ballaiah’s body into the refrigerator.
On Thursday, because of the decomposition of the body’s weight in the refrigerator, the neighbor again found the stench of the house and warned the police,” ACP said.
The doctor who did Postmortem said they did not find external injuries and viscera had been preserved for forensic analysis.
“We suspect that Baliaiah died of poor health.
Nikhil claimed that he did not tell anyone about death because he did not have money for the funeral.
Baliaiah and Nikhil live with the retirement of the old man.
We have registered suspicious death cases under the CRPC Section 174.
Based on Viscera Analysis Report, we will take appropriate legal action.
There is no arrest made, “ACP said.
