Islamabad: Pakistan has announced to ban train trips for people who are not vaccinated from October as part of the government’s efforts to fight the reluctance shown by citizens to get themselves vaccinated with Covid-19.
The decision was taken at the National Command Meeting and the Operations Center (NCOC) after the top anti-koronavirus body expressed concern for the spread of the virus.
The official Privy for the details of the NCOC meeting said that it was decided that those who did not want to be vaccinated would not be allowed to travel by train from October 1.
Domestic air travel has been banned from this month while teachers, students and the public servants have been asked to be vaccinated at the end of August.
Pakistan launched his vaccination in February and so far more than 37 million people have at least one dose.
Only seven million people received two jabs far from those who got at least one dose.
Pakistan has announced to vaccinate at least 70 million people at the end of this year.
The new step was announced as 3,884 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, taking national calculation to 1,075,504, while 86 people died in this period and the death toll of Covid-19 reached 24,004, according to the National Ministry of Health Services.
It is said that the level of prospective is 7.85 percent.
Meanwhile, the US has submitted a million fast Covid-19 antigen diagnostic kits (RDT) to Pakistan, according to a statement by the US Embassy.
“This RDTS will serve the needs of Pakistan about rapid supervision and diagnosis and limit the spread of Covid-19 to the lowest level,” said Mission Director of USAID Julie Koenen.
Embassies said that the US government had allocated more than USD 40 million to Pakistan for the help of Covid-19 response, including a donation of 200 ventilators, private protective equipment and pulse oximeter.
Pakistan has also received 5.5 million doses of modern vaccines under the Covax facility.
