Ludhiana: This district reported 1,040 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday, 914 people tested positively came from Ludhiana and 126 others from outside the district.
Also, the district recorded six deaths because of Covid.
The deceased included a 80-year-old woman from Mundiyan Kalan, a 78-year-old man from Machhiwara, and a 64-year-old man from Ferozepur Road.
The other three died belonging to Jalandhar, District of Ferozepur and Malerkotla.
The total number of Covid deaths in Ludhiana rose to 2,147.
The number of people from the state and other districts who have died at the hospital in Ludhiana totaling 1,077.
Local health department officials said that until Tuesday the number of patients from Ludhiana Regency was 99,001.
A civil surgeon said until now 89,270 Covid patients have recovered in the district.
Vice Commissioner Varinder Sharma appealed to residents to comply with all safety protocols.
When this report was submitted, 7,584 Covid cases were active in the district.
Beddides, 7,345 samples are collected during the day for testing.
