Navi Mumbai: The volume of Navi Mumbai vaccination has crossed a 10-lakh sign, with almost 93% of the population that meets the requirements of vaccinated with at least the first dose of the covid vaccine.
With more than 100 active vaccination centers in the city, NMMC hopes to cover the remaining 7% for the next few days.
Moreover, 4.37 people lakh or 40.4% of the eligible population have been fully immunized.
NMMC officials said the population were quite large in the city had been vaccinated despite the lack of vaccine supply, compared to other cities in the state.
It was also possible because two jumbo vaccination drives were held in the city in the last two weeks, where more than 70,000 vaccine doses were available.
In accordance with the current government protocol, considering the 15 lakh population, the city needs to vaccinate more than 10 lakh people.
Until now, 14.38 doses of lakh vaccines have been given in the city and priority given to the less capable part.
The Civic body aims to facilitate more than 110 centers to set the vaccination target of more than 25,000 people in a day.
The 18-44 age group formed a major part of the drive held recently with 6.3 lakh people in a vaccinated group with the first dose, while 1.7 lakh was given their second shot.
