Chennai: The total number of 972 housing projects was registered with last year’s Tamil Nadu real estate regulatory authority, which was a 28% increase compared to 2020.
While the 2020 registration was witnessed from 755 projects, it was 492 for the previous year 2019.
Data is available with the portal Tnrera shows that Some of these projects registered are located in the Metropolitan area of Chennai and the Chengalpet District, Kancheepuram and Tiruvalur.
According to Real Estate Rules (Regulation and Development and Development) Tamil Nadu, 2017, all ongoing housing projects with a minimum of eight units intended for sale and housing plots must be registered with the State Real Estate Supervisory Authority.
