Navi Mumbai: More than 98% of the population who qualified in the NMMC region have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine – the highest in Mumbai Metropolitan region.
In addition, 50% of the qualified population has obtained both doses.
According to the eligible population figures collected by the state government, 11.1 lakh people in the city need to be vaccinated against the previous amount of 10.8 lakh.
With a comparison, in Thane, 50.3% of the adult population had received first and 91.6% shots according to BMC, although in accordance with Cowin, a higher number at 94.6%.
NMMC has held the mega drive to achieve a 100% vaccination target of a population that meets the requirements with at least the first dose in the next few days.
NMMC officials said it took a long time to cross the first dose of 96% to 97% due to an increase in beneficiaries according to the country survey.
Commissioner NMMC Abhijit Bangar said the country recently sent a repeat of the assessment of a vaccine recipient who qualified, which according to him increased by 27,000.
“We are closer to 100% first dose vaccination.
It is hardly a week to complete the task.”
