Patna: In the main hard action on the liquor mafia, 98 people were arrested in the last 24 hours as two more died in Samastipur Hooch Tragedy since Saturday night, taking the sixth death toll on Sunday and overall in a separate incident in three districts.

Sao told the police before the death that he had bought two small bottles of IMLF from one Rahul Mahto on November 3 night.
“They have consumed two bottles and, later, fell ill,” he said.
He said the total 15 people, including three which were directly associated with Hooch’s death, was arrested in the last 24 hours.
Those who were arrested include a collection of smugglers of the wife of Abhilash Rai Kusum Devi (35), Yaduvash Rai, who was undergoing treatment, and Vicky Mahto.
“Mahto has bought a fake IMF bottle from one Bhagwan Ram, who is on the arrest.
Mahto also sells liquor to Singh and Sao.
More than 700 liters of IMFL and rustic liquid has been confiscated in Samastipur in the last 24 hours,” he said.
Gopalganj SP Anand Kumar said the police were arrested at all 51 people and won several hundred liters of illegal liquor in this district in the past 24 hours.
“A total of 81 people have been arrested in the last three days,” he said.
“Two liquor manufacturing plants with sealing and stamping equipment in Manjashagarh and one in the city area are broken.
Previously, one factory was broken in the river belt after Hooch’s death,” Anand said.
West Champaran DM Kundan Kumar said more than 100 people involved in manufacturing liquor and smuggling were arrested in the last three days.
“We also hold meetings with all shos and chowkidar to strengthen the system more to limit manufacturing forbidden fluids and smuggling in the district,” he added.
