99.88% of POPN Vaccination in Pune Dist Stay Covid Free

Pune: Whispping 99.88% of people in Pune District, given the dose of Covishield or Covaxin, has not been contracted by Covid-19 after vaccination, data released on Tuesday by the District Health Office (DHO) shows.
Of the total 63 lakh people who have been vaccinated in this region so far, 7,636 people proceed to contract infection – only 0.12%.
Data shows that of 46.85 lakh people who were given a dose, 5,466 was positively tested for Covid later.
Of the 16 lakh remember the two doses, only 2,170 people turned on to contract the virus.
In Pune Rural, 3,219 individuals who just received one JAB received Covid and 896 symptoms developed after both Jab.
In the PMC limit, the virus was detected at 2,162 which had received one JAB and at 1,251 which had received both.
And in the PCMC area, which has reported the lowest number of infections among those who were vaccinated, 65 who only received the first jab that fell ill and 23 was tested positive after the two shots.
Officials say these numbers can be revised later.
Ashish Bharati, Head of the PMC Health Department, said the number of people who tested positive after vaccination is currently very low.
“But we have been ordered to track vaccinated populations since January (Covid vaccine drive starts on January 16).
We are trying to get more appropriate data.

Bharati added that officials worked to get the number of people who had died after one or both doses.
This data, he said, will be presented at a Covid review meeting, chaired by Deputy Chief of Minister Ajit Pawar, this weekend.
PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil, when asked about the low number of infections among vaccinated in Pimpri Chinchwad, ruled out in laying.
