99 Commandos, 3 Sniffer Dogs Land as All ITBP Detachment Returns from Afghanistan

New Delhi: Contingent 99 ITBP command together with three sniffer dogs landed at the Hindon IAF base on Tuesday on a military evacuation plane from Afghanistan arrested by the Taliban, officials said.
The command also brought back their weapons and personal belongings and will now undergo quarantine Covid-19 for a week at the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Facility (ITBP) in Delhi, they said.
“With this, our complete contingent is used to secure the embassy in Kabul, four consulates in Afghanistan and diplomats have returned.
The command came along with the embassy staff along with other Indian citizens,” said ITBP spokesman Kumar Pandey.
The command was taken on the brown ITBP bus from Airbase Hindon to Quarantine Facilities.
A senior officer said that the commando also brought their personal assault series weapons, an anti-bullet jacket, helmet, communication gadget, ammunition and three dog sniffers.
Thirty diplomats including the Indian Ambassador to Afghanistan Rudrendra Tandon, 99 ITBP command and 21 civilians are on the Globemaster C-17 aircraft from the Indian Air Force (IAF) departing from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul this morning and stopping the Airforce Base Jamnagar Before touching the Hindon in Ghaziabad nearby at night, he said.
There were four journalists among 21 civilians, he said.
ITBP has mobilized more than 300 commands for security tasks in Afghanistan.
The strength was first used to secure the place of the Kabul Embassy, ​​Diplomat and staff in November 2002.
This then sent additional detaches for the Indian consulate guard located in Jalalabad, Kandthar, Mazar-e-Sharif and Herat.
The Consulate detachment has been withdrawn after they closed recently because of the current crisis in the country and also because of footsteps that can be ignored when the coronavirus pandemic grips the world.
Itbp was also deployed to secure the Delaram-Zaranj Road project executed by the Border Road Organization (Bro) between 2005-08.
A number of ITBP commandos were also killed in various terrorist attacks that occurred during these tasks and many of them were decorated with a rash medal.
