Mumbai: Even when several parts of the city are recorded heavy, the rain overnight accompanied by thunder activity, the IMD has issued a yellow warning, indicating heavy rain in isolated places for the next two days in Mumbai and side by side with Palghar, Thane and Raigad.
The intense rain activity also saw the lake almost filled with full water stocks up to 99.22% on Monday.
While the IMD Santacruz Observatory recorded 71.5mm rainfall in 24 hours ended 8.30 in the morning on Monday, Colaba Observatory recorded 57mm in the same period.
But throughout Monday, the rain receded very low as observations of IMD Colaba recorded 0.2mm rain while the IMD Observatory Santacruz only recorded 5.8mm in nine hours to expire 5.30 in the afternoon.
With the yellow warning in place for the next Ple of Days Cou, the lake tends to be filled with full capacity.
The lake must have 14.47 lakh million liters at the end of the month to meet the city’s water requirements until the next monsoon.
Stock water currently stands at 14.36 lakh million liters such as opposing 14.22 lats million liters recorded on the same date last year.
“Southwest Monsun has been active on KONKAN and Cyclone circulation now located in East Rajasthan and the environment,” said IMD.
