9K captured across Tamil Nadu in medicine, Lottery Scam Case

Chennai: The state police arrested 9,498 people on charges of selling illegal drugs and sales of illegal lottery tickets in the past month.
Substances and contraband vehicles worth 32.5 crore recovered from them.
Under Gutka Hunt’s operation, a drive throughout the state, the police restored marijuana worth 2:35 crore, Gutka worth 5.31 crores, a heroin worth 23 crores, lottery tickets worth 50 lakh worth 1.5 crore.
In Thoothukudi, the police team, led by police supervisor S Jayakumar, arrested at least seven people because it had 23 kg of heroin worth 23 crores during the raid.
The police said this was the main freight in the state in the past.
A total of 1,221 people were arrested in 1,272 cases in all states to sell marijuana.
The police confiscated 2,299 kg of marijuana worth 2.35 crores and 107 vehicles, including seven four-wheeled, from them.
The main haul was reported in Dindigul where the police recovered at least 220 kgsof marijuana.
The police registered 8,142 cases against Gutka sales and were arrested by 7,708 people in connection.
In total, 40,000 kg of Gutka worth 5.31 crore recovered from them.
The biggest seizure of Gutka, 7,085 kg, was reported from Krishnagiri District.
On Chennai, 2.13 kg gutka has recovered.
In the case related to lottery ticket fraud, the police arrested 569 people in 842 cases and recovered lottery tickets worth 50 lakh from them.
