Mumbai: A man allegedly tried to commit suicide outside the State Secretariat of Mantralaya in South Mumbai on Friday, police said.
According to the initial information, the man was suspected of trying to consume toxic substances while standing outside the front gate of the secretariat building at 12 noon, a official said.
The man was immediately detained and rushed to the nearest hospital, the official said.
The reason for suicide efforts is not confirmed, and further details are awaited, he added.
