Noida: The resident of Ghaziabad, was accused of fraud Rs 3 Crore related to the supply of bulk facial masks at the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic, had been arrested, police said Noida on Friday.
The defendant worked in a company that had taken a bulk supply order from a company based in Noida but did not provide it with a mask or return the money taken as a payment in advance, police said.
“Accused of Aeem Maheshwari, an Indirapuram resident in Ghaziabad, desired in connection with fraud and forgery.
He and his partner had taken Rs 3.03 Crore first from the company to supply a mass mask in bulk.
But they never returned the money,” said a spokesman police.
“A pine was registered at the Phase 3 police station in Noida in the case on January 10 this year based on complaints from private companies,” said the spokesman.
In early June, Police Noida had arrested Maheshwari’s partner from his residence in Gurgaon Haryana in connection with this case.
The FIR has been submitted under the Indian Criminal Code 420 (cheating), 467, 468, 471 (all related to forgery), police said.
