Patna: Bihar JD Decision (U) will ratify the ‘nomination’ recently Rajiv Ranjan Singh aka Lalan Singh as the national president of the party on August 29 during the National Council meeting in the capital city.
It will also approve several other decisions taken in the national executive body of the party meeting in Delhi on July 31.
Also with the election of upcoming assembly in five countries-cave, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand – the meeting assumes the significance as JD (Uttarak) has decided to oppose at least two state polls in an effort to achieve ‘national party’ status.
More than 250 delegates, including the carrier of the National Office of the Party, MPs, MLA, the President of the State and other senior leaders from 23 states and the United States will participate in the National Council meeting which will be held in the State Office JD (U) in Patna, Party National Secretary General AFAQUE Ahmad Khan told TI by telephone on Friday.
“The day before the National Council meeting, the meeting of the national party office carrier had also been held in the same place on August 28,” Khan said.
Head of Bihar Minister Nith Kumar, Lalan Singh, Minister of Steel Union and former National President of RCP Singh and Chair of the National Parliamentary Council of the Party of Upendra Kushwaha, will be among the top leaders of JD (U) to mark their presence at the important national council meeting, A said Senior party leader.
The leader added that it was for the first time that Lalan Singh and RCP would be seen together after a friendship recently among their supporters on the problem of non-printing photos in the welcome poster.
Party sources say the issues related to state polls are also likely to be discussed at the National Council meeting, the highest body of party decision making.
It should be noted that JD (U) has decided to compete for the poll assembly Manipur and Uttar Pradesh, due in February 2022, in an effort to achieve the status of the ‘national party’.
Lalan Singh, while handling meetings at the party office here on August 6, said that JD (U) has reached the status of ‘States Parties’ in Bihar and Arunachal Pradesh.
“Now, the party needs to reach the status of ‘States Parties’ in two other states to become ‘National Party’,” he asked to hold an upcoming assembly poll in two states.
Lalan Singh also held a meeting with senior party leaders in Delhi on August 13 to discuss issues related to the northeastern state, especially the Assembly poll in Manipur.
At the meeting, it was decided that Jhanjharpur MP Ramprit Mandal would visit Manipur in the first week of September to take a stock of political situations there.
The meeting in northeastern countries was also attended by the Secretary General of the National Khan, National Treasurer of Mandal and Party and Gopalganj MP Alok Kumar Suman.
