New Delhi: A 14-year-old boy, who is seriously ill with heart failure, has received a new lease, thanks to his older brothers.
The brother donated the parts of their hearts to him because of challenging transplant surgery, the doctor said on Saturday.
Akshat, a teenager from Budaun at Uttar Pradesh, struggled for his life more than a month ago because of the liver failure which resulted in deep yellow disease.
This case was made more complex since the patient was overweight, it weighed around 92 kg.
Dr.
Neelam Mohan, director, child liver disease and transplantation at Medanta Hospital said while his two sisters, Neha (29) and Prerna (22), were donors who met the requirements but the weight was far less.
