Dubai: The Organization of 57 members of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) promised on Sunday to help achieve peace in Afghanistan and said the future leaders must keep the country be used as a backyard for international Islamic militants.
This organization urges “future Afghanistan leadership” and the international community to work together to ensure that Afghanistan has never been used again as a safe platform or place for “terrorists”.
“The terrorist organization is not allowed to have a footing (in Afghanistan),” said the last communique, was issued after Saudi-based organization held a special meeting called Riyadh to discuss the situation in a war-hit country.
Calls and body decisions are mostly symbolic, but showing distrust of the Taliban who took over Kabul last week, and how some Muslim countries were concerned about new realities in Afghanistan.
The statement called the Afghan parties to resolve their differences “peacefully”.
