New Delhi: The Ministry of Finance has given the September 15 deadline to repair disruption in the new I-T portal.
CEO of Salil Parekh’s company on Monday met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi, after ‘called’ for obstacles on the portal.
Sitharaman is believed to have conveyed “disappointment and deep care” the government for sustainable disorders in the new income tax archiving portal.
The statement issued by the Income Tax Department said that during the Minister of Finance’s meeting emphasized that there was a need to place more resources and efforts on the infosys section so that the delivery of agreed services was too delayed as confirmed.
“The Minister of Finance Hon’ble demanded that the problems faced by taxpayers for the current function of the portal must be resolved by the team on September 15, 2021 so that taxpayers and professionals can work smoothly on the portal,” said the IT department in a meeting statement.
Sitharaman also met Parekh and Coo Coo Pravin Rao on June 22.
Infosys was awarded a contract in 2019 to develop a new income tax e-filing portal.
This project aims to develop the next generation of income tax archiving system to reduce processing time for returns from 63 days to one day and also accelerate refunds.
But the portal www.incompax.gov.in has faced interference since its launch, with users complaining that certain functions are not available or work slow.
In July, the Ministry of Finance asked the Indian Charter Accountant Institute to form a unit of seven members to see the technical problems faced by the new income tax e-filing portal developed by InfoSys.
Icai is then a team to analyze the problem.
The portal is inaccessible on August 21 and 22 until late at night.
It returned after what was explained by the Department of Technology was “emergency maintenance”.
Infosys Indian business unit in late night tweets on Sunday said, “Emergency maintenance of the portal @incomexindia has concluded and this portal lives.
We regret the inconvenience caused by taxpayers.”
