New Delhi: India tends to see the request of cloud professionals to touch 20 lakhs in 2025, as the need for a business to migrate important workloads for cloud and modernize IT-Premise infrastructure, mainly posting a pandemic, it has accelerated the growth of adopted clouds in this country, Nasscom’s research show on Monday.
In 2025, India would have an estimate of 14 to 15 lakh cloud professionals.

At present, India is ranked 3rd up globally with a talent pool installed 608,000 (FY2021) professional cloud.
“For India to engrave itself a unique identity as a global hub for cloud solutions, concentrated public-private partnerships, and large-scale skills are the keys,” said Debjani Ghosh, President, Nasscom.
“Nasscom has established prime futureskills initiatives in partnership with Meity to Upskill Talenta in the technology that emerged and cloud skills is the main area of focus on this platform,” he added.
According to the report, India has an ecosystem needed to take a large part of this market and be seen as a cloud solution for the world.
However, for this dream realized, India must get a stack of cloud skills.
“India has the potential to become the second largest cloud talent center in the world with a combination of government agencies, education and expert organizations and technology providers,” mentioned.
With fast digital acceleration and everything is based on demand and needs, migration to cloud-based services will provide a significant competitive advantage for SMEs and new normal companies.
This is increasingly expected to grow exponentially with accelerated cloud adoption throughout the sector.
Infrastructure agility, flexibility, and resilience in clouds at a much lower cost, especially Pandemic posts have become the main growth drivers for such changes, added the report.
With the basic growth of 24 percent of CAGR, a collection of Indian cloud talents is expected to grow 2.4x to almost 1.5 million in 2025.
To bridge the supply gap, skills on the scale must be the top priority.
“India is well placed to do this by utilizing adjacent ponds from the base installed and also by targeting fresh talents from the university,” said the report.
