Aascar Ravichandran, Tamil ‘Anniyan’ (2005) film producer was moving by a court against the Director of Shankar and Gada Jayantilal producer for the remake of the film.
Ravichandran has filed a complaint against Shankar with the South Indian Chamber (SIFCC) and claimed that the body would support it.
Speaking to Etimes, said Ravichandran, “I will go to court against Shankar and Jayantilal Gada.
They cannot make a film without my consent because I have the copyright of the film and no one else has my rights as a film writer.”
But Shankar responded to the manufacturer’s complaint stating that ‘Anniyan’ was his script and everyone knew about it.
Ravichandran said, “He can say and claim anything, but everyone knows that ‘Anniyan’ is my film and I hired him to direct the film.” ‘Anniyan’ has been released with the Hindi dialogue dubbed ‘Aparichit’ in 2006.
Ravichandran will submit a case in Madras High Court but he also added, “Sifcc, who had supported me, told me to wait a little longer because they had spoken with the film association in Mumbai.
But not Shankar who is a film manufacturer but whose gadji with whose I need to discuss the project.
”
Ravichandran which produces ‘Anniyan’ with South Vikram superstars must know about the remake of his own film, after being announced on social media.
He said, “I was surprised that without me knowledge, the remake of the film was announced.
It must be the first time something like this happens in our cinema.” Shankar and Jayantilal Gada have announced on April 2021 that they will recreate a film in Hindi with Ranveer Singh plays instruction.
