Delta Case Show 300 times Higher Viral: Study

Seoul: The person infected with a more transmitting Delta variant has a viral load 300 times higher than those who have the original version of the Covid-19 virus, when symptoms are first observed, a South Korean study found.
But the number gradually decreases over to 30 times in four days and more than 10 times in nine days and a suitable level is seen in other variants after 10 days, the control agency and prevention of Korea (KDCA) said on Tuesday.
Higher load means this virus spreads much easier than people to people, increases infection and hospitalization, a official health service Lee Sang-won told a press conference.
“But that doesn’t mean Delta is 300 times more contagious …
We think the transmission rate is 1.6 times the alpha variant, and about twice the original version of the virus,” Lee said.
The Delta variant of Novel Coronavirus was first identified in India and the Alfa variant in England.
To avoid the spread of the Delta variant, now the dominant strains around the world, KDCA urges people to be tested immediately when developing Covid-19 symptoms and avoiding direct meetings.
The rapid spread of Delta variants and low vaccination rates have captured many Asia Off-Guard, especially in developing country markets, even when the economy in Europe and North America reopened.
This study compared Viral Load 1,848 patients infected with Delta variants with 22,106 people who had other strains.
South Korea reported 1,509 new Coronavirus cases for Monday, raising a total of 239,287 infections, with 2,228 deaths.
It has been vaccinated 51.2% from 52 million populations with at least one vaccine dose, while 23.9% has been fully vaccinated.
