Nagpur: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and Vidarbha Hospitals Association (VHA) once again in Loggerheads, this time more than capping and the audit of the cost of mucormycosis treatment costs incurred by patients in several tertiary care hospitals.
Mucus treatments, also called black mushrooms, are expensive affairs with bills that flow to several lakh.
High costs are mainly caused by expensive drugs such as amphotericin B next to the removal of eyeballs, nasal sinuses, jaws, forehead or parts that are full of mushrooms eating meat.
Although the government has provided unlimited coverage under the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Jan Arogya Yojana (Mjpjay), this scheme is not available in special hospitals.
VHA defends hospital rights that treat Musormycosis patients and are called NMC auditors who seek bills for audits as illegal.
The association has written to the city commissioner which shows that government orders on June 3, 2021 at the level of mucormycosis and audits are only valid until 31 July 2021.
“Because mukormycosis is a non-covid disease, the GR said has replaced the Judicial command in this matter,” added VHA .
In addition, the validity date has also expired, he said.
VHA said that the Supreme Court on July 19, 2021 has upheld the high court decision on October 23, 2020 at WP No.1936 / 2020 that there were no restrictions on interest rates that apply in non-covid cases.
The association has claimed that in scenarios such as ongoing exercises to find bills for the audit of the cost of Musormycosis maintenance at all cannot be justified and illegal.
