Srinagar: Three Terrorists from Force Resistance (TRF), branches of Lashkar-e-Taiba clothing which were banned, were shot down in a meeting in Sopore in the district of the North Kashmir District on Tuesday.
More than 100 ultras have been killed in anti-terror operations throughout the Kashmir division this year so far, said IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar.
The meeting came only a day after a top Lashkar Commander, Abbas Sheikh, and his aide was killed in a ferocious weapon battle in the Aloochi Bagh Srinagar area on Monday afternoon.
The terrorists hid among the youth playing cricket and was shot dead by the police in a civil dress.
In Sopore, a joint team of police 52RR, CRPF and J & K Army launched the Cordon-and-Search operation in the Petheser area after receiving the input on the presence of terrorists there on Monday night.
A terrorist was killed in the early two firefighting fire exchangers killed on Tuesday morning.
TRF Trio was identified as Faisal Fayaz and Rameez Ahmad from Shopian, and Ghulam Mustafa Sheikh from Kupwara.
The burdensome material besides the arm and ammunition also recovered from the location of the shootout, officials said.
